Establishing the Counseling Relationship:
During your initial counseling visit, we will clarify your counseling expectations and begin establishing the professional, helping relationship. I am eager to work with you and create a trusting, safe counseling experience for you. Together we will identify and agree upon the personal and career problems to be address, and work toward these shared goals during each session.
Counseling strategies and techniques will be introduced that will be most beneficial for positive counseling outcomes. In the healing partnership, we will work together and agree upon what you need and how the strategies will be carried out. During this stage, appropriate assessment tools will be used to help promote your self and career awareness.
You will be supported in developing a plan with specific next steps for exploring career options, developing interpersonal skills, and increasing coping strategies.
A plan of actions focusing on specific activities to achieve your counseling goals will be established. You will build skills and confidence toward making healthy choices and achieving career management.
During this last phase of counseling, I help you reevaluate your progress and assess strategies toward maintaining your personal and professional lifestyle.
